Heung Yuen Wai Highway (HYHW) of approximately 11 km in length, comprising 5.5-km tunnels, 4.5-km viaducts and 1-km at-grade roads, is one of the main routes in the North District.

Fanling Highway Interchange

The Fanling Highway Interchange is located near Kau Lung Hang. The scope of its works includes mainly the construction of four viaducts connecting the northbound and southbound Fanling Highway. Among the four interchange works in HYWH, the works at the Fanling Highway Interchange is the largest in scale and the most complicated. As the viaducts span over Fanling Highway and the MTR East Rail Line, the project team had to work against the clockto complete the installation of each 46-tonne viaduct segment within the limited period of two hours after mid-night to avoid any disruption to the daily busy traffic.
